1st Annual Back to School Party

Our buddy Zac and his neighbors had the genius idea of having a back to school party. Everyone brought food to go along with the keg and the two grills that were in action. The fun got a rare assist from the Memphis weather which felt like the first day of fall.

It was tuff getting Phoebe off the rope swing.

Phoebe and Frankie's favorite band the Magic Kids played.

Superdad got the call to DJ so he brought a couple boxes of 45 and kept the good times going from the world's greatest makeshift DJ booth.

Phoebe and Frankie take a sandbox break.

T-Bone Goes Home

Our great pal T-Bone moved back to his hometown of Boise, ID. The Here Comes Trouble kids have really come to love him over the years, especially Phoebe. They even share a birthday. (notice the change in hairstyles - for both of them!)

For the going away party, The Lady of the House made his favorite meal - sloppy joes - and Phoebe made his fave dessert - brownies.

Phoebe did a great job serving...

...and Frankie did a great job eating, and trying to eat everyone else's brownies too. Rascal.

The three of the groups shots were all too funny to edit any out:

Dinner spilled out into the front yard for some goodbye shenanigans.

Chaos broke loose in this tag team match as Frankie takes Superdad hard to the mat.

Somehow the alliances changed as they often do in wrestling, and both Frankie and Phoebe turn on T-Bone while Superdad gives the 3 count.

After the goodbyes, we took the Schwinn De Luxe 5 tandem out for a spin. It was the Lady of the House's when she was a kid and had been inoperable for years, but T-Bone was on a mission to get it up and running before we left and was working in the dark to finish the job on his last night in town.

It is impossible to have a bad time on a tandem or, for that matter, when T-Bone was around. Team Plumley is going to miss having him in Memphis.

Back to School

Phoebe and The Lady of the House both started back to school this week, with Phoebe now in JUNIOR KINDERGARTEN. Measurements must be taken to memorialize such milestones.

Phoebe has grown about an inch or so since her last first day of school. She was pleased with the progress.

Here she is showing off her back to school outfit. 100% by Phoebe.

Enough with the papparazzi already!

They get to walk to school because its only a few blocks away.

Don't let this ending fool you, The Lady of the House was carrying Phoebe's enormous backpack about 20 feet into the walk. Phoebe reported that she likes her new teachers and had fun in her new class, The Bucky Beavers.

Dad Date

Superdad took Phoebe to the mini-Mississippi river at Mud Island on a lovely Sunday afternoon. You can walk the length of the mini-river, which is a built to scale version of the Mississippi that ends at a big pool that is supposed to be the Gulf of Mexico. There is even a layout of Memphis along the east bank of the mini-river where Phoebe was happy to be able to find her house and school.

The mini-river runs right next to the big river. That is the new bridge to Arkansas behind Phoebe.

Superdad told Phoebe that he had a surprise for her and that she had to dress nautical for their date. Phoebe asked about the surprise during the entire walk down the mini-river, but Superdad didn't crack and the surprise didn't disappoint. Paddleboats!

Phoebe picked the dragon over the swan. It was tuff to operate, but they figured it out.

Phoebe's feet didn't reach the paddles, so she was in charge of steering and Superdad provided the go power. Lookout!

Paddled out.
