Playing Outside

The kids are old enough that you can just turn them lose and check back on them a few hours later and find a wigwam, bow and arrow, and homemade hammock.

The kids wanted to run the annual race through our old neighborhood. About 3,000 runners do it on a Friday night in September every year. Frank hasn't run since his first 5k earlier this year, but still said he was going to finish in less than 30 minutes.  Before the race:

Here comes Frank, first in his age group and 49th overall at 28:17.

Phoebe a few minutes later - 4th in her age group.  Just missed a medal by a few seconds!  Mom finished pretty strong too a little later.

He was excited that the medal is a bottle opener.

Dress Like a Teacher Day at School

Phoebe went with the obvious choice.
