Playing to 100 on a cold weekend morning.

Basketball

This is the 500th Here Comes Trouble post!

The kids both played basketball for the first time this year.  It did not replace soccer as Phoebe's favorite sport, but Frank officially has a Basketball Jones.  In his big game, he scored 8 of his team's points in an 18-10 win and all of them were made granny style.  He was the only kid to shoot this way but he didn't care as long as they were going down.

Getting after it.

It was almost impossible to get any good action shots of Phoebe for some reason.  She's the shortest one, in the middle.

Waiting for a free throw.

More Richie Cunningham action.

With her coaches and some teammates.

Wolf River

We checked out a 3 mile trail along the Wolf River recently.  Checking the map:

Muddy river.

Hug a tree!

Taking turns crossing this rickety bridge that is is a lot higher than it looks.

One at a time.

Taking a breather.

One weekend its 70 degrees, the next its 20. Up on the roof of Immaculate Conception Church for a great secret view of the neighborhood.

Throwing the frisbee at Immaculate Conception.

Ice skating at the zoo.

Hoop City

We've been seeing a lot of basketball games this season. Here's Frank at the FedEx Forum for the brutal Tigers-Bearcats game and enjoying a huge corn dog.

Phoebe sitting court side for the nationally televised Lady Tigers game against undefeated UConn.

At another Lady Tigers game on campus, Frankie was selected for the dunk contest.

Phi Slamma Jamma!

The winner of the contest was decided by crowd applause and Frank won and got a bag of Tigers goodies.

Back at home showing off the contents of his goody bag.

Here they are back at the Forum on MLK Day for the Grizzlies.

Nosebleeds!

The kids can now say they've seen Charlie Pride because that's him down there singing the anthem.  He did the halftime show too, but no "Is Anybody Going to San Antone."  What?!

Go Griz!

Grizzlies shepherd.

Double Birthday Party

The kids had a joint party for the first time. Economies of scale! The each had four buddies join them on adjacent lanes at the local bowling alley and they had a great time.

We didn't realize that the bowling emporium would be in "cosmic bowling" mode during the party.

The kids liked it but it made it tough to get any good pictures.

Birthday brownies.

Roll on!

Happy Birthday Frankie!

Making it official!

Inspecting his progress.

Six pancakes for breakfast.  He finished four.

Later that day… new slippers.

A basketball from big sis.

And the big boy bicycle!

Singing Happy Birthday.
