random iphone photos

A while back we got these iphones. Our old phones didn't have cameras, so we only ever had photos from things where we had a camera. Now we can capture the cute whenever it happens, even if we left the camera at home.

Phoebe had really been wanting to go to Chuck-E-Cheese because the kids at school had been chatting it up. We've never mentioned the place to her. We asked her why she wanted to go and she said "because there is a big mouse that gives you a high five!" We had no intention of taking her until she got prescribed some nasty medicine and then the usual parent-child wheeling and dealing had us agreeing to take her there if she took this stuff twice a day for 2 weeks. The stuff was terrible, but Phoebe really wanted the high five, so she took it, and then the Lady of the House took her to Chuck-E-Cheese. After about 30 minutes and no high fives, Phoebe asked to leave. I'm sure this won't be the last time the kids at school over-hype something. She still has about 50 tokens with that mouse's mug on 'em to remind her of it all.


Kind of like the egg from Frankie's favorite show, Mork and Mindy.

Mississippi Day Trip

Superdad had his hands full with the kids one recent Saturday, so he took the kids down to MS for a day of loafing around. Here they are on the street in Clarksdale, digging the sounds of Honeyboy Edwards.

Crystal Shrine Grotto

The kiddos had so much fun at the Old Mill in Little Rock, we had to take them to the Crystal Shrine Grotto - both we designed and built by the same old guy.


It's like a big cave with religious installations here and there.


Coletta's, the greazy pizza place we get the heart shaped pizzas from, has a dining room called The Grotto that we like to sit in when we eat there. Believe it or not, it doesn't look much different than this.

Those are headstones in the background. The Grotto is on the grounds of a big cemetery in Memphis. Isaac Hayes and other interesting Memphians are buried there.
