Christmas Trip Pr. 2

Busch Gardens for Christmas Eve. Rides, rides and more rides.  Nothing says Peace on Earth and Goodwill to Men like BUMPER CARS!

Mimi & Popsy with the kids on the swings.

Matching slickers come in handy trying to spot them in warp speed.

Big tree.

Gondola.

Polar bear ride.

Some glider ride the kids went on.

Frankie stroking jumpers...

And winning a stuffed Yukon Cornelius!

Christmas Trip Pt. 1

Went to VA this year. First stop was Nashville for lunch at family favorite Arnold's.

Stayed in Asheville for the night.  Our first time there, would like to return when we have more than a night.  What better way to unwind after a long day in the car than a hotel hot tub?!

Lunch in Chapel Hill with Sunrise Biscuits on Danny Baseball's recommendation.

Made it to VA and Phoebe went straight for the favorite family ornament.

When in Williamsburg, you have to go get in some colonial action.  Phoebe was so happy to find sheep - and they seemed to be everywhere.

Phoebe would have watched the sheep all day if she could have done it.

Colonial tree climbing.

Memphis Christmas

As always, we celebrated Memphis Christmas early before we hit the road.

Before the chaos.

New soccer ball.

Phoebe wanted these Mexico socks and Frank got them for her with his own money - they were a buck at the grocery store!

Board games from Aunt Kelly & Uncle Boog.

Frank drew this great boxing picture for dad.

Close up detail of the fighter in the blue trunks.  Frank was excited to point out that he made this guy have some dirty tricks up his sleeve!

Indoor Soccer

Phoebe played her first season of co-ed indoor soccer and loved it. Frank is still to young for the league. Because of the glass and speed, it's impossible to get a decent picture of them playing.

Her team - the Headbutters - finished in third place.  Almost made championship game but lost a total
heartbreaker.

Grizzlies-Suns

Just the boys at the Grizz game.

Probably best game of season.  Grizz won on improbable last-second inbound alley-oop.

Wednesday, January 6

St. Jude Marathon

The race goes right through the neighborhood and the kids' school had set up a little cheer station.  We saw the school mascot - The Saint - was there to cheer on the runners.

It didn't take long for the 13 year old boy in the costume to get tired of being tackled and beat on by his buddies so he abandoned the costume and Phoebe took over as The Saint.

Thanksgiving

Nice and warm on Thanksgiving. Football game at neighbors' house:

Dinner time.

Peanuts puzzle after watching the Peanuts Thanksgiving special.

And then a run up to the cabin to shut it down for the winter.
