Two Dinners

One recent Sunday, we dropped the kids off down the block at our friends' house so we could go over to Arkansas for a big dinner party.  Phoebe and Frankie and their pals had a big time and all got to make their own personal pizzas.

Meanwhile, we were at an Outstanding in the Field dinner at Whitton Farms - 13 courses from a bunch of chefs from Memphis, Oxford, and Nashville.
 

Indian Summer

The second weekend in October was warm enough to swim during the day, but cool enough at night to have a fire. We took our last canoe trip of the year before the old boat comes out of the water for the winter.

Chalk Party

The great Brook Museum of Art in Overton Park had a great party the other day.  It was its birthday and everyone got cupcakes.

And they turned the plaza into one big sidewalk chalk art show.

Friday Morning Chapel

Phoebe and her class performed two songs for the entire school at its weekly gathering. Check her out hamming it up and belting it out.

Mystery Reader

Now that Phoebe is in first grade she gets to do stuff like be the mystery reader for the little kids down the hall in kindergarten.

Phoebe got to pick the book and she decided on one of her favorites - Ghosts in the House.
