Summer Vacation, Pt. 1

For vacation this year we went to Tybee Island, GA, which is on the Atlantic, just east of Savannah. It's the closest Atlantic shore point from Memphis, but its still a 10 hour drive, so we stopped in Atlanta on the way down to spend the night with our old buddy from PA, Chris.

Living up to his nickname - the Little Ragu - he cooked us an old country Sunday FEAST, even though it was only Saturday: chicken cutlets, meatballs, steak pizzaiola, roast zucchini, and house chianti. Unbelievably good.

Of course the Little Ragu has a jukebox right off the kitchen - a true sign of taste and class.

After a great breakfast we hit the Noguchi Playscape in Piedmont Park so the kids could run around before getting back in the car. We'd read about this place in an article about the plaground renassiance of the 60's and 70's, before everything became 100% plastic and safe and looked like McDonald's playgrounds.

Believe it or not, this might be Phoebe's first time on a real teeter-totter. You just dont see them anymore.

Climbing.

Hanging.

FAST slides, perfect for racing. The Lady of The House off to an early lead.

Frankie gets in on the action.

Phoebe about to hang 10.

Frankie senses the impending doom of getting back in the car for the remaining 4 hours of the trip. Next up: beach.
