Greer Spring

We hiked down to Greer Spring in Missouri on Labor Day weekend.  It's a 45 minute drive north of the cabin and then a one mile hike down to the spring through the Mark Twain National Forest. The spring is one of the biggest in the Ozarks, churning out something like 1,000 gallons of water every second and feeding the 11 Point River.

The second place place where the spring bubbles up is a boil that comes out of the ground about 50 feet downriver of the cave. You can't tell from the photo, but that water comes up about 2-3 above the water level of the creek.
