The Water Wheel

Frankie has been into water wheels for a while now. Phoebe too, but not quite as much. It all stems from the Eric Carle book about pancakes when the boy's mother maker him do every little thing necessary to make a pancake, including taking the wheat the the mill, which is of course powered by a water wheel.  Frankie has read this book a hundred times and the water wheel is his favorite part.  Anyway, he and Phoebe go nuts when we pass this old water wheel on the way to the cabin, so we finally decided to stop and check it out.

Checking it out.

You could go inside the water wheel house and, if you put a buck in the shoe box, go up the stairs and across this rickety old foot bridge to the other side of the river.

On the other side, you could see the source of the water that makes the wheel turn.

The only problem is now they want to stop every time.
