We left Nana's the day after Christmas and hightailed it back to Memphis. First stop was in Washington, PA for lunch at Shorty's Lunch. Shorty's specializes in natural casing hot dogs and gravy fries. That's about it. The sign claiming this place to be a treat for over 50 years is probably about 40 years old, so we're probably really talking about 90 years of treats here.
Phoebe and the flat top grill.
Frankie worked up an awful hunger in the back seat.
We stopped again in Cincinnati and stayed at the same Embassy Suites, our new favorite hotel chain. This time we actually took advantage of the ridiculous "Manager's Reception" which involves free cocktails and pretzels and popcorn in the lobby/lounge.
Both kids seemed to enjoy their first ever Shirley Temples!!!
