Later that day we went to Del Mar - the kids' first trip to the track. Phoebe knew this was in the plans, so she packed her Kentucky hat for good luck.
And it worked. Phoebe picked the winner in her first 3 races, one of which paid out 22-1. Too bad she was only allowed to place $2 bets!

Sammy Hagar was playing after the final race. We didn't stick around for the Red Rocker, but we did snap a photo with 2/3 of ZZ Top on the way out of the track.
